Welcome to Acalanes High School — We’re So Glad You’re Here!
As part of registration, we’d love to introduce you to Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE) — our local nonprofit that helps fund the programs and staff that make our public schools exceptional. LPIE is a community-supported nonprofit led by parent volunteers that helps fund the programs and staff that make our public schools truly exceptional.
What does LPIE fund at Acalanes?
LPIE helps pay for:
• Salaries for teachers of 20 elective and AP class sections, supporting a broad course catalog and manageable class sizes • Support for academic clubs and programs, including Mock Trial, Model UN, and more • Career Technical Education (CTE) programs, including Auto Shop, Robotics, and Fabrication — hands-on learning spaces with cutting-edge technology • Visual and Performing Arts programs, including music, theater, and studio art • A fully staffed Wellness Center • Technology tools, enrichment programs, and classroom supplies for teachers, students, and libraries
These programs are not fully funded by the state, but they're what make your student's high school experience engaging, creative, and supportive.
Why does LPIE ask for donations?
The Acalanes Union High School District receives the least state and federal funding per student of any high school district in California—about $4,000 less per student than it actually costs to provide the level of education we want for our kids. LPIE was created by parents -just like you- to close that gap and give all students what they need to thrive.
We ask families to consider giving $2,000 per student each year to fill out funding gap-but every gift makes a difference.
We know that's not possible for everyone-and that's okay. Many parents choose to donate monthly to spread out their investment in our students and schools. Monthly contributions of $100 or $50- or one-time gifts of $500- are equally needed and appreciated.
Every donation, at any level, makes an impact. Whether it’s a one-time gift or a monthly pledge, your support directly benefits your child’s classroom. All donations are tax-deductible.
Together, we keep Lafayette schools strong — for your child and every child.
